Diva’s First Dance Lesson

(*) Darlin’ asked me to post this because I was the lucky one that got to take her to her first dance class. This is a day we have long waited for, and at last it was here. Diva had been excited about this since last friday when we went to buy her dance shoes and leotards. She could hardly wait.

I got her down for her nap early so we would have time for rest and to arrive on time. I actually had to wake her after 2 hours and was prepared for the cranky girl you normally get when she doesn’t get her nap out. However, when I woke her up I just said “It’s time to get ready for your dance class” and her face just lit up. We quickly got ready, posed for a couple of pictures and off we went.

When we got there, much to my surprize, our little one, who will not turn 3 for 3 months, walked right into that room like she knew what she was doing. She looked around at the mirrored room and that was all it took.

I left the room, and listened for a few minutes until Darlin’ arrived to take a few pics. It is a simple class, an introduction to dance actually, posed in a fun way for young children to learn very begining ballet, rythm, following directions, ect. She actually had no problems with the class, which I attribute to her preschool experience. I was amazed because she is so very young. Even her momma was 3 1/2 when she started. She came out of class still hoping around, and told me she wants to go back again “next time”.

Of course I had to call Poppa, to tell him his grandaughter is just like her momma, and he is almost as excited as her momma and I. I think he is picturing another 15+ years of dance recitals, LOL.

She was starving as soon as she got out of class, and inhaled an entire toasted cheese sandwhich and a glass of juice.
